Amami Oshima Tsumugi

A documentary following the production of Amami Oshima Tsumugi silk textiles. I directed, shot and edited the film.

Originally planned around interviews, the approach shifted to conveying the craftspeople’s meticulous work and dedication through the images themselves. Following a proposal to the client, I shaped the film around visual storytelling.

Produced for exhibition screenings, the completed film was also shown on JAL international flights.
